Well for starters, you need to decide if you want to build muscle right now or if you want to lose fat. They do not happen together unless your new to bodybuilding or in some rare cases. If you want to build muscle, you need to be eating 5x a week and get most of your protein from food. If you want to lose weight, cut calories, workout and then run.
No you should not have protein shakes 5x a day, its a waste, they do not really replace food, the protein is absorbed much better from food then shakes. Any bodybuilding forum or web site will tell you that its best to get your protein from food.
If you want to put on muscle, have about 1 gram of protein for every pound of weight. So if you weight 180 pounds, have 180 grams of protein. Have protein in every meal. Your shake schedule is fine, one scoop in the morning, and two after your workout.
I drink designer whey and probolic SR. They are both good brand. I use the probolic SR when trying to lose weight because it has a strong chocolate flavor so I can blend it some half a banana and a lot of ice to make a nice meal replacement shake. The designer whey is what I normally take in other cases. It doesn’t have a strong chocolate flavor, so if your going to get this, put very little water in so its thick so it tastes decent.
